…Earth fair market was really fun. We sold out!
I’ve started making brioche for the weekends – and I’m making it well :-P
We’re open for dinner tonight and tomorrow it’s an early rise to bake for the Earth Fair Indoor Food Market in Retreat. It’s going to be a great weekend!
I’m off to sell goodies at the Night Market from 2pm ’til 8pm. It’s such a jol.
Perhaps I’ll see a friendly face or two while I’m there … HINT HINT!
What a laugh! I surfed it down the beach a bit with some friends – we ended up waaay down at the vlei mouth. A lot of fun though – fantastic vibe on the beach the whole day and ev’ry restaurant had blazing trade throughout the day so thank you to all those who supported the event and Empire Cafe
Yes it’s true.
We’ve totally nailed the sauce for butter chicken :-D
Come taste – it’s flippin’ fantastic.
Served with Basmati and a cucumber orange salad. Simple.
Empire Cafe, in the form of me, shares a stall at The Earth Fair Market in Retreat, the site of Builders’s Warehouse. It’s awesome! very popular and it’s only just started. The organisation is great and there’s a lovely variety of stalls, fresh fish, Namibian meat products, Rudi’s Meats, good SUSHI and BEER. So … now you really know why I’m there :-). The extra business has been really welcome this winter. Although I must say it’s been quite an easy one this year.
I’m including a link to the location here – it’s an INDOOR market
I think this is incredible. If you’re ok with nudity you’d do well to have a look at her blog and flickr site. She’s awesome .
Wish I was this creative with a camera :-/
Hiya.
So from Thursday (tomorrow morning) we’ll be selling spinach and feta and cheese and ham croissants – you have never seen such beautiful “piez” in your life!
I’m not following a traditional format with the shaping at all :-D
Plus – we’ve started using a “biga” (starter dough) in our ciabatta, so yes, the impossible happened – my bread just got better ….
AND! I’ve moved the croissant display to the cash desk at the door AND we’re retraining coffee jockeys so perhaps, just perhaps, our coffee, which is already good, may become great!
BTW If anyone has a favourite coffee company let me know please.
I’m shopping for options …
Cheers
Dave
